The 29th annual Flower & Garden Festival will take place Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 in historic downtown Leesburg. More than 150 vendors will fill the streets with seasonal blooms, herbs, gardening supplies, outdoor furniture, and more.
In addition to the exhibits, festival goers can enjoy live music, which will kick off Saturday with local performer Gary Smallwood, at 10 a.m. The beer garden, located on the Town Green, will feature eight of the region’s best brews while a children’s area on Cornwall Street will provide live entertainment and crafts for the kids.
Guests will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite landscape display in the People’s Choice Landscape Competition. Ballots can be picked up at the entrance booths or at the Gazebo. Completed ballots should be placed in the birdhouse at the Gazebo by noon on Sunday so that the winner can be announced that afternoon.
Portions of King, Market, and Cornwall streets will be closed for the event, however parking will be available in the Town parking garage using the Loudoun Street entrance. Additional parking will be available throughout the downtown and a free shuttle service, from Ida Lee Park, will run continuously throughout the day. Please note, visitors are asked to leave pets at home during the festival.
The Flower & Garden Festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, rain or shine. A $3 donation, per person, is suggested at the festival entrance booths. For more information, call Ida Lee Park Recreation Center at 703-777-1368 or visit www.flowerandgarden.org.
There will also be a community forum offered at Douglass from 9 to 10 a.m. featuring a dialogue between youth and elders.
