Coupons Can Save You Big!

Using coupons for groceries, dining, entertainment, and services can save an average family hundreds or even thousands of dollars each year.

Follow the links to the right to find sites with lots of printable coupons.  Remember, you can use printable coupons at any store (check their coupon policy.)  There is a maximum print limit, so make sure your printer is working right first.  DO NOT make copies of printed coupons.  The bar code has information tracing the coupon back to your IP address.  If there are too many coupons from that address, you will not be allowed to print more in the future.

3 Things You Should Know About Coupons

  1. 1.They are like free money.

Using coupons regularly will save you lots of money.

2. Couponing takes some time and effort.

The more time and energy you put into it, the more you will save. Extreme couponers spend 5-10 hours a week (sometimes more) on their obsession. Convert savings into an hourly rate and you might find that your full-time job is already paying you better. However, spending even an hour a week couponing can still save you money. You have to find the right balance for your lifestyle and budget.

3. There are many sources for coupons, both paper and digital.

Increasingly, there are also websites and apps that give you coupon credit like a rebate. It is best to experiment with different types of coupons and rebates to find the ones that are easiest for you to use. Personally, I am a fan of old fashioned paper coupons, but I also use digital coupons and apps.

More Places for Coupons

Sign up with e-mail lists and you will occasionally receive coupons for products or dollars off purchases.  One that I like is Home Depot’s Garden Club.  All spring and summer, I get coupons for potting soil and grass seed, and stuff like that.

Another way to get good discounts is to join the birthday club for different businesses.  You’ll find most of these for restaurants, but I got one for Chicken of the Sea tuna today in the mail.

If you plan on saving big through any of the suggestions that I’ve offered through this blog, please be prepared by reviewing the store’s coupon policy ahead of time.  You may want to even print it and bring it along in case the cashier gives you a hard time.
